Lambertville , N.J. a long time Artist Haven & still looken Good .
That is a Beautifull Area there on the River ( One hour plus out of N.Y.C. & Philly ).
There was a Scenic Studio ( owned by a Jim H----? ) for many Broadway Roadshows in a large Old Bus Station there in the mid/late 60s - now long gone.
Hi Bud
I thought I knew of all the scene
shops from that era but I can't
recall any there besides the shop
run by Bucks County Playhouse
The Music Fairs had their own
shop in an old leaky barn in
Devon PA near the Valley Forge
Music Fair tent
My shop in Sarasota has the very
misleading name of Sunshine Scenic
Studios as we do most anything
and everything except scenery
It was a name that came to me
in a lawyer's office when we
were establishing the corporation
as it sounded good at the time
A few years back my wife and I
visited New Hope and caught a
show in the Playhouse and it
was very dissapointing
There is a color post card of this venue that I have seen several times at post card shows.
Bob Kitto
I worked at the Lamberville Music circus in 1964-65 in the box office. It was the new site several miles north of the site in the picture. I liked the orginial site better but more parking at new site. By that time it was callee St. John Terrells Music Circus, he was a great showman, fair businessman.
Hi there Art
I had asked in another item if
"Sinjin" Terrell could be any
relation to Zack Terrell who
was a show owner long ago
Maybe you might know
You probably know "Sinjin" was
also one of the originals with
Buck's County PLayhouse across
the river in New Hope
Where is Art Ricker now and what is he up to? I remember him from RBBB as a true professional and a gentleman. ~frank
If Art had played his cards right he could be promoting the Coney Island date today.
I don't think Art was part of
the Pook's Hill Poker Players
If you know what I mean
art's the best. no one else could touch him. a great person and a great friend. art and joan have a very nice bed and breakfast in williamsburg now. if he were promoting the coney island date it would sell out
Thanks Henry, All the pictures from Eric in California make me think about the early days with Cotton. He was a great friend and boss, he did all of California and I was there right behind him carrying the bags and learning form the best. He knew how to promote and I am so glad I had the chance to learn from him.
Actually, I lived in New Hope, my father was a doctor and his office and our home (upstairs) was about 200 yards from the Playhouse. The building right in front of the cannon. I had a chance to work at the playhouse, I think Mike Ellis was there at the time, but I liked the idea of a tent..
Henry.. didn't we always take advance trips to Florida.?
I handled the marketing and sales for the first tour in Europe of Walt Disney World on Ice including Italy. Taking the circus to Italy should proof quite interesting.
