Beauty, grace, elegance and sleek sex-appeal - and Evie wasn't too bad either! ~frank
Best riding Tiger act ever. And I have seen them all. When the act was still in Germany the Horse, named Tiger finished the act galloping and the Tiger, named King, would jump on and off, just like any bar back rider would do, only faster. Of course the had to drop that trick on Ringling because the risk of the horse slipping was to big.I was there in my Uncle Winterquartier when he trained the act, it was during the Winter time and the practise arena was big and did`n have any heat and we all froze our back side off.
I was always amazed at how the lovely Evy could handle such a difficult act wearing HIGH HEELS!
I would like to thank Eric Beheim for this remarkable gallery of photos. You have preserved a lot of circus history. I am grateful to you.
Actually, you should thank Buckles. I've had these slides on hand for 39 years but had no means of sharing them with a larger audience. Without Buckles' Blog, they might have gone unseen for another 39 years!
Hello Eric, Was wondering if there is a trick when you scanned the slides?

I just use an mid-level HP scanner with a slide-copying feature.
Eric do you have Vista or Xp? Had XP and not many problems. Had to replace the XP , and still looking for a good match up for the Vista for slides. Have about 7 or 8 thousand circus slides to put on dvd.
thanks again,
P.J.
a great presentation that Franz's dad had previously shown--i think Evy only worked the act a season or two on Ringling but it was impressive;
