William Woodcock Sr.

Scan11336, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

I fave a filing cabinet in the back corner of my room that contains some of my dad's personal effects such as his Masonic Apron, wallet, ID cards and so forth.
The bulk, however, are letters he had received over the years as well as over a thousand copies of letters he had written and later amassed by Rick Pfening.
Also contained are a number of route cards, tickets, passes, coupons, etc. Items that I never developed a particular interest in.
Included are a few.

The show didn't play Sunday dates.

They did a two-day engagement in their hometown in mid-season.

A one day stand occurred in the former hometown of the Campbell Bros. show.

Extraordinary long jumps mixed with short hops.

None of the railroads listed exist intact today, or by name.

The lots in the Twin Cities were adequately far apart to require re-loading and unloading.

The show was headquartered in a building owned by one of the owners.

The printer forgot to change the year in the print block.

Lots of things to be learned from a single route card.

The longest jumps were typically "Sunday runs."
