Russell Hall #1

This 1904 picture of Russell Hall (son of George W. Hall Jr.) as he would have appeared in the side show leased to Mugivan and Bowers..
Aside from the added drama, I don't know why he would be dressed in little girls clothes.

In the Victorian perspective, it was scarier for a girl to be handling snakes than a boy. Women were to be protected against all threats, but the circus routinely placed them in positions of presumed risk. It was part of the appeal.
