The Wm. P. Hall papers now housed at the CWM Library have the contract for the 1931 season where Sam B. Dill of 322 East Fourth Street Bloomington, Indiana leased 6 elephants for $125.00 a week for thirty weeks. Mr. Hall provided the Trainer with the lease and Mr. Dill housed and fed the trainer and the elephants along with the return freight of all animals and trainer back to Lancaster at the end of the season. The contract was NOT cancellable by either party. All six elephants Jennie, Anna May, Tess, Katy, Juno, and George are listed in the lease as being 5 1/2' tall and 2500 to 3000 pounds each. The Height and Weight is then indicated as an estimate.

Is this the same "George" that became a part of the Adkins/Terrell
Cole Bros. Circus?
All three of these elephants went to the Cole Show.
When Bradbury wrote up the Dill shows years ago, he mentioned George Stretch and Ed Clending as working the Hall elephants over there and also Edward Clark as working the lone elephant Gentry Babe after the Hall elephants went back.
Dam I thought sure Mr,Reynolds would have had a head of hair back then.
