Joe was a good friend for many years on Gil Gray. He was very accomplished and had a very fascinating life history. He could speak some nine languages. He said he came to South America as a cage boy for Blacaman from Europe and did a number of adventourous things traveling the interior of South Americ, Mexico, etc. in those primitive times [no elec., cars, tribal rules, etc.] Came to Dailey Bros. and then the Benson Farm Joe Walkch act on Rogers Bros. to Gil Gray, Ringling, etc. to family Chimp act. Joe lived up into his nibnties. He was quite a guy. I witnessed for him in Dallas to become a U.S. citizen.
