Roger MacDonald and Joey Ratliff

Roger Mac1, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Here are a couple of photos of Roger MacDonald. Had
a very nice visit with him last week. He is 81 now and
lives in Yuma, Arizona., he is currently on his way to
Florida. I took him to my office and showed your blog
and he enjoyed going through it and even found himself
in a picture with Benny White. I gave him copies of
the photos of him with "Ruth" and "Trilby" and with
Smokey in '55. He shared his memories of Hugo Schmitt,
Benny White, Smokey, Virgil Seagraves, Rex and you. He
spoke of working "Miss Burma" (Mills Bros) for Pres.
Eisenhower's inauguration and his near ending under
"Bee" on the Beatty-Cole show. A great day with a very
nice gentleman who is still interested in "our game".
He wants to volunteer his services anywhere he can,
before he left town he went to a still damaged area to
see if he help with some home building chores that was
going on. He may try to look you up when he is in your
area. Thanks.

Joey

Roger McDonald, is the same person I got to know in Washington, DC during 1957-61 period...He was working the D.C. Zoo at the time in the elephant house? Often wondered what happen to him..I enjoyed my visits to the zoo and visiting with Roger..dpowhitetiger
