Back on the Ringling Show in 1954, Hugo returned with the understanding he would only deal with the seven baby elephants "Tex", "Padmuh", "Tara", "Yamina", "Rani", Seeta" and "Rajee" that worked in the center ring. Arky Scott remained as Elephant Supt. not a good arrangement. The following year 20 more baby elephants were added and like ancient Rome, were ruled by a triumvirate......Arky, Hugo and Smokey Jones. Following the '55 season Hugo threw in the towel and left to buy his own elephant.
