This is my copy of the same picture.

It is included in the 1954 RBBB route book with the following caption:

"Who said elephants are afraid of bridges? Here some of the nine herds of monsters belonging to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus are shown disproving that old fallacy as they nonchalantly march across the bridge spanning the Kanawha River at Charleston, W. Va.
Eugene Scott superintendent of the elephant department of the Greatest Show on Earth, paces the lead trio on horseback."

"That's Benny White riding the lead elephant." Buckles

Buckles,
I recall an incident you described regarding taking the Ringling elephants near an airport -- I think it would be worth repeating here with the bridge and elephant photos.
Do you care to repeat the details?

We trudged over many bridge but I can't remember being near an airport.
This may have been a Hillary story that improved with each telling.
