Big elephant is "Myrtle". I don't know why they had those looping straps attached beneath each headpiece. Louis Reed started that about ten years earlier and it looks like a clumsy thing to contend with and something else to keep the elephants from chewing on.

Maybe this was to keep them from grabbing something important, like the tent guy lines.
