On some lots the show's water supply came from a spigot two blocks away in some little old lady's front yard.
After the last performance, with the water pressure being used up by everyone using their showers, only a trickle remained for the animals.
All you could do was hand the hose to each elephant and they would suck on it like a straw. Might be midnight before they all had enough. Rex would slide a short piece of metal pipe up the end of the hose to prevent impatient elephants from chewing the end off.; 24 October, 2007 09:30
