These first two pictures from Chuck Schlarbaum.

Chuck,
I found a photo in the back issues of Circus Fanfare that you requested. I have included 2 photos, one of you and Richard Honzelka and another photo of a 1932 Hagenbeck-Wallace band. Although from the article with the picture of Honzelka, it says he survived the train wreck- assuming that was the 1918 wreck and this photo of the Hagenbeck-Wallace band would be many years after he was on the show. Tom Ogden's book on circus notes 3 train wrecks for Hagenbeck-Wallace, but only puts the date of 1918 on the worst of them.

From Circus Fanfare Vol8-No1-Pg8-ARTICLE-{Richard Honzelka, 98 of Van Horne, Iowa, can still play a good trumpet and even had his eye on a new model he would like to buy and try. Assistant band leader on the famed Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus in the early part of the century, he emerged unhurt from the train wreck of that show. He has a lot of good circus stories to tell. He served as an early inspiration to Charles Schlarbaum, his grandnephew, to become a circus musician and band leader. They got together for a few impromptu duets last summer.}-END ARTICLE
