Attached are the first 7 of 28 color slides of the Ringling-Barnum show from (I believe) 1952. I originally got this set of slides for Christmas in 1961. The company that sold them has been out of business for 25 years so I don't see why you can't use them on your blog. (I'm sending them in four groups of 7.) I'll be interested to read the comments that these will generate.

(I will include the subsequent three sets, including the animal marches, setting up the show and back yard shots, on the following three Thursdays.)
I might add that Shannon spent quite a bit of time restoring them to their original color as much as possible.

Thanks Eric for submitting the photos and thanks Shannon for your efforts to improve the quality. This is waht6 make the blog.an outstanding circus history site.
Thanks Eric for the great color slides of days gone by.
I think these were sold by Blackhawk films of Davenport, Iowa.
Video tapes put them out of business as they sold 8mm and 16mm fils that were not cheap.
For collectors who have slides if you shot Kodachrome slides they will last forever as it first came out in 1935 and they have not faded yet.
Now Ektachrome in time will fade and turn all blue as the dyes are not stable.
When I take photos of the circus I also shoot Kodachrome slides for the colors for modeling, as this is a permanent color record.

From Eric:
Harry, you are correct, these were originally from the late, lamented Blackhawk films.
I just recently purchased this set and also the set for the Beatty show in the late 60s on Ebay. Great slides and great to see them on Buckles blog.
