From Gary Payne

FLASH!
Animal Issue Alert!

In CT, there is an urgent new development. HB6599 has been referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE where it is now known as HB7019.

I kid you not - this bill will be voted on this MONDAY! Don't shoot the messenger. You will recall that I earlier pegged the sponsers of this bill as clever and professional....and that is what makes this bill so dangerous.

I am hoping that EACH of you will take time to write ONE good, short, letter. Perhaps you can re-use one that you just wrote?? Forward an Email (that is all there is time for) to EACH of the people on this NEW (Judiciary) committee. I am attaching the information compiled for us by Ringling's Tom Albert and MaryLou Kelly. Click on the link for a sample letter on one page, and a list of each member of the committee on the other. Most of you have already written to the Environment Committee....this is a whole new set of names folks!!!

Letters from the fans and CFA leadership in Connecticut were already FAX'd and hand delivered today... Now we seek an avalanche of Emails from anybody and everybody. That is all there is time for.

Since most of you already have written in the past several weeks, it wouldn't take much time for you to re-work your original letter a bit....and fire it off to the list attached. Please advise via return Email that you have done so, as we are tracking our progress, as always. We feel we generated 400-500 calls and emails and letters 4 weeks ago. We realize we have little time for this round.

District No. 2 is not disbanding it's organized efforts.... We are preparing additional people to testify at the capital when and if it becomes necessary. We are assuming that we will need to multiply what we have already accomplished and that (like this week) we will have little or no notice whatsoever.

The District No. 2 CFA Task Force considers its efforts to be permanent and evolving....

While I am at it, I'll also be writing and sending Email out to California.....as they are having similar difficultys.

Thank you for your attention. We shall prevail.

Regards,

Gary C. Payne, Dist. No. 2 Director

Gary Cooper, Dist. No. 2 Animal Welfare Task Force
