Mr. Woodcock: Mr. Feld, Ms. Feld and their lawyers are in the lobby for you. Shall I give them coffee while they're waiting?

The trainer would certainly be a big hit with Carden Shrine Circus dates in Wisconsin as the only "Cheese Head" elephant trainer.

I guess the question should be, who was first?

The only TRUE secret revealed in this 1972 photo, is that Buckles once drew a pay check from Mr. John Cuneo.

Jimmy, what show and whose arena ?

This elephant's original name was "Popsicle" and was trained by Junior Clark at Southwick's.
John bought her and had her delivered to my place to have a hind leg walk and one-foot stand added to her repitoire.
I immediately changed her name to "Billie" after my sister in law (Lou Roselle's mother).
When John learned that I was booked with the Miller-Johnson Circus he immediately called Charlie Germaine and made a separate deal to include her in the show.
So in the final analysis I got paid extra for the season and John got a free elephant, seasoned and ready to go right into his act.
Unless I am mistaken she now resides in Jurassic Park.

Larry, this is the Miller-Johnson Circus in 1972. Me and "Billie" with Pat Anthony's arena in the background.

WHEW!! I held my breath on this one!!! Before opening the comments.

"BILLIE" Will show them a thing or two at that soon to be ZOO. Spots never change no matter what spin they put on her about changing her ways. Wade could make comments about his favorite elephant. They can't say we did not tell them. Her PMS will kick in and who knows what she will do.

Photo
That wig is a mystery however costume is of the James Bros era. The trucks looks like Miller Johnson with Vargas paint. The headpiece looks like the old Hamid style copied by Buckey and the punk looks like Siam #2 but that's not possible.Buckles Who-where-when?

Mr. Woodcock - this reply is not focused to this thread and you may want to make a seperate post -

Harry Locker, Operations Manager at the Williston Retirement Facility passed away last evening. Harry was a pretty nice guy and love the elephants he cared for.

Please repost this is your usual heartfelt manner.

Actually I was wondering if Bello was paying YOU royalties?

"Immediate and swift action"...My, my, all over Bello's hair or at least Jimmy Cole's version of it.I would sort of prefer that the same amount of energy and money might bring Soucha Hauck back. I guess the old expression, if you play with bulls, you may get the horn, applys.Really gives meaning to "a bad hair day."
