Wow! - 4 lions riding horses. Who is Tamara and what show and date was this taken?

These horses sure are adorned with colorful outfits. Most of these type of acts in our part of the world used horses adorned with the raw leather look. It aways appeared like they were going in to practice.

Don't know that I would care to have four lions so intently looking at my back!

Josip Marcan said that this act came from Russia. Undoubtably the trainers had a lot of help (grooms) to go with the act and Govt. support at that time. The date on the photos is 1962.

Lots of grooms and Govt.support?

The former Union of Soviet Socialist Republic supportetd it's circuses. What ever they needed, they pretty much got. They even provided a pension for retired circus artists.

There were a few good points to that form of government, but it was far over shadowed by the bad.

I might add that the first U.S. appearence of the Moscow circus in 1963 was the first look at Russian people that many Americans ever had.
What a great way to "break the ice" and get the peace process started!

It seems like every time I say somthing good about an act from the former USSR, I hear the old "Govt. Support" thing. You forgot to add the "I bet she doesn't shave under her arms" line. The point, (the horse garb looks sharp)hairy arm pits and all.
