Mr. Moore had a W.C. Fieldian type personality, he used to regale us with tales about his conflicts with Art Concello during the time the Beatty Show was struggling in 1956. Parley Baer bought his home in Tarzana because it was located on Bilmoor St. He said it was a good omen. He was not to be taken lightly tho, his family were hard core Texas Democrats and affiliated with the Sam Rayburn clique. Even in death Mr. Moore once came to my rescue. Barbara and I were on our way from Hugo down to the Texas dates and decided to spend a day or so with her father's little show (Ruben Ray) which was showing around Bonham, Bill Moore's home town. The first day there I had a scuffle with a couple of the local rowdies who promptly returned with the police and the next thing I knew I was on the inside looking out. One of them was skinned up a bit so they were talking thirty days in jail. Mr. Ray contacted Bill Moore's widow (I don't remember her name) and she had me out in fifteen minutes.
