Would you know anything about the elephant that appeared in the 1939 Oliver Hardy movie, ZENOBIA.
In the movie,he plays a country doctor who has to look after an elephant named Miss Zenobia.
Was that the elephant's real name, and for which circus or zoo back then?
Its going to be rpeated late tonight on TCM(Turner Classic Movie)channel.

A Million Dollar Cat and a Lovely lady! I like her boots. Is the car a Packard perhaps?

A little bit off the subject BUT I wandered through the discount book section at Wally World and they had a stack of books " Final Confessions Of Mabel Stark) written by Robt Hough. Check out your local store. The price was rights at 5.97. cc

The Final Confessions of Mabel Stark is a sham! There is an honest biography of her life printed in the 1930's or 1940's I believe but this Robert Hough book is filled with half-truths, lies, deceit, and a lot of other Baloney!

Now I'll have to read it and try to sift through the c..p instead of just enjoying the pictures!cc

Mabel's book was HOLD THAT TIGER, written with Gertrude Orr. It first appeared in 1938, had a 2nd printing in 1946.

Hough's book is a disgrace to him and, as I've said, a pornographic distortion of who Mabel was. That's about all I have to say unless I meet up with Hough again.

THE WILD ANIMAL TRAINER IN AMERICA was written by Joanne Carol Joys.
