Thank you, Buckles! What a great picture and cover of the magazine! Which elephants are these? I know that must be you walking with them, in that awful headgear? Is that a dress? Just kidding. Would it be too much trouble to show us all 19 seasons of the Big Apple Circus in pictures? I know that is a lot. You guys amaze us all everyday. Thanks, Annie

"Peggy" and "Toto" and this is just a long coat, under no circumstances will the dress be shown.
Tho I must admit it came with slippers with curled up toes like the Wicked Witch of the West wore and did afford a pretty nice leg line.

"Peggy" was originally trained by John Herriott when at Circus World Museum in 1963 and was called "Eva". She went to the Red Show in 1970 and from there given to me in 1982. I changed her name to "Peggy".
At the time I had never heard of PMS but I learned in a hurry, she could have mood swings and actually leak out of her temporal glands like a male.
Yes, she is at Riddle's Sanctuary today.

Was Peggy the elephant that went after Gunther before being given to you by Kenneth?

No, she went after Henry Schroer his assistant and several others, quite a ruckus. Kenny called and said she was all mine.
By the time I got up to Tallahassee the train had gone and all that remained was "Peggy", Gunther, Siegrid, David Polk, Mickey Antelek and the giraffe.
Jumped her into the truck and we were out of there. Had her in Baraboo that first year 1982.
