This is the one. What a priceless shot. In this one, Ernestine stands to the right of Poodles. Pictures of Kim at that age prove no denying of mother and daughter. For those who may not know, Ernest Clarke is at left. Kim says Uncle Charles is at right. These men were early pioneers of the flying trapeze, and Ernest flying to Charles created the first act to consistently catch the triple. There was no one up there to drop bars. It was the pure two-act, and the timing was so refined, Charles returned Ernest to the waiting fly-bar trick by trick. They also caught at least one, possibly the first, quadruple. They talked about it the rest of their lives, but tragically, there was no camera to record it. Thank you, Buckles.

If I'm not mistaken, first we have Ernest Clarke (Ernestine's father) the next three are Gracie flanked by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Poodles Hanneford, then Ernestine followed by her grandmother and mother and finally Charles Clarke.

Everyone in this picture is either a Clarke or a Hanneford. By this time George Hanneford had left and started his own riding act which of course later included his kids Georgie, Tommy and Kay Francis.

Buckles, Your line-up is exactly right. Ernestine's mother was Rebecca, also called Becca, and lastly Baba, by grandchildren Kim and Dale Baer.
Kim told me George, Sr., got mad and quit the road, he said forever, when gasoline got up to twenty-five cents a gallon.
