That's a special photo of that glitzy Don Foote rinestone Circus Costume Peak Era, along with the " Prince " ! What comes up for me again is Dalilah ; always , stlying in such a Picture Perfect Poise !
Bud, Now just where do you think the child learned to be so picture perfect? Look at her mother. Buckles has photos of Barbara as a child working with her dad that are priceless. Just like the rest of the pictures.
Pat, by the time we got around Prince his mind was starting to wander, to the point where people like Dick Fick would have to look after him. Make sure he got to the building, locate his stateroom when he returned and even carry his key which he would invariably lose. I remember him best when he danced with Janice Aria in the "Roaring 20's" number. He being two feet shorter and dressed in a fur coat with a turned up hat, she a flapper with lots of beads and clown shoes. At one point she would do a high kick and he would pass under her leg. She told me that whenever Irvin Feld attended a performance he would forget everything and all he could do was wander around and go "Yabba, Dabba" On one occasion she did her high kick and Prince was so nervous he drove the top of his head into her crotch and they both fell. She said you could later see his makeup imprint on her inner thigh.
I'm not sure if Richard Fick posts on this blog, but like Buckles said he was Prince's friend and kept an eye out for him in those final years. I believe he is writing a book on Prince, and that would be a great addition to any circus bookshelf.
Many clowns like Pitofsky, Ron Severini and Tommy Parrish had great Prince stories in the alley, some funny, some sad, but everyone loved the little Prince.

Prince really was a great little clown, wasn't he?

Oh - I thought " the Shaz " might have been the guiding light , hence " his " proud stately stance and that esoteric smile ?

It just dawned on me that Shannon looks like JOHN ELWAY in this picture. My favorite Quarterback. Also the only one I know.
