Ken Maynard #3

George Christy closed his circus immediately in 1930 with the first effects of the Great Depression. Here we see Mr. Christy in 1936 selling the remaining equipment to Ken Maynard.
I might add that a good number of these wagons remain in Baraboo today.

To find more on Western stars who owned or appeared on circuses, try the URL,http://www.surfnetinc.com/chuck/trio.com. I'd need Shannon to interpret that for me. Or just type in The Old Corral and hit "enter". Here is a wealth of carefully researched material on the cowboy stars. Look for the link "Under the Big Top". It's existence is credited to Fred D. Pfening, Jr.

Roger, I just looked up the site you suggested, "The Old Corral" I wanted to see Bob Steele. I had always been told my uncle Dan was a dead ringer for him. What a shock! I had seen an old photo of him a while back. Scary! Then it told the height of Steele. My uncle was 6 foot 3. Except for that these men could be triplets. I will try to find a picture to send. I really never knew about Bob Steele. People just told be about Dan's friends calling him Bob.
