"Black Diamond" #3

Tom Scapalanda took this picture of "Black Diamond" being walked to the lot with the Al G. Barnes Circus at San Antonio in 1928. The elephant man is Homer D. "Curley" Prickett and surprisingly the same horse my dad had ridden on the Atterbury Show "Chub".
This picture was taken later in the morning so Diamond could be moved directly into the menagerie when he got to the lot.

I love looking at the old elephants, but when I know they die it makes me depressed for days. Especially the hugh males. Wish I had kissed Margaret once or twice.

Was Black Diamond blind in one eye?
The reason I ask,is I noticed in one of the photographs taken in Kennedy Texas after he was
gunned down,if you look at his left eye,its real milky looking.
Perhaps thats the real reason he turned on Mrs.Donehoe, who reportly reached up and patted him on the side of his head near the water trough in Corsicana.

Correction,I meant his right eye in the photo(I must have delexia).
