I'm still "playing" with assorted newspaper archives regarding Barnum & Bailey's 1897-1902 visit to UK & am currently fighting 'Fultonhistory.com' - a difficult site to get clear results from! However, an item about loading the show in November 1897, in 'the New York Sun', mentions 'James B' & 'Joseph' as two of the "baby elephants" playing up a bit on going aboard - the first time I've EVER seen these names! I suspect the 'James B' is 'James Bailey', but.... As 'Hebe' was also 'Babe,' and 'Colona'/'Kolona' was also 'the Duchess,' is this another case of the pair having other names as well? - it gets very confusing!! Keep up the good work with your blog, thanks in advance, Fred Neill

Due to the cancellation of Kelly Miller's date in Frisco, TX I switched my stay in the Oklahoma City area into a two days stand visiting the Royal Hanneford Circus and the OKC Zoo. Both places had an amazing success during that perfect weather weekend. Direct from the fridge in Canada the male Elephant Rex now found a new home at the Zoo's outstanding new exibit. The facility houses two 15 y.o. cows and baby Malee almost one year old.

Billy Martin and his staff transformed the Sate Fair Arena into a second Lido de Paris with a great production enjoyed by many many Circus enthousiasts from the greater OKC area. That's the kind of Show you don't wanna miss ! On the picture from the L. to the R. Billy Martin, me, Louie Del Moral, Special Guest Star Armando Loyal, the Show Girls and Kelly (Elephant). So far so good ! Now it's time to visit America's One Ring Wonder the Kelly Miller Circus in Royse City, TX. Best Wishes. Vincent
