Buckles,

A query for your lists I suspect!

I'm still "playing" with assorted newspaper archives regarding Barnum & Bailey's 1897-1902 visit to UK & am currently fighting 'Fultonhistory.com' - a difficult site to get clear results from! However, an item about loading the show in November 1897, in 'the New York Sun', mentions 'James B' & 'Joseph' as two of the "baby elephants" playing up a bit on going aboard - the first time I've EVER seen these names! I suspect the 'James B' is 'James Bailey', but....

As 'Hebe' was also 'Babe,' and 'Colona'/'Kolona' was also 'the Duchess,' is this another case of the pair having other names as well? - it gets very confusing!!

Keep up the good work with your blog, thanks in advance,

Fred Neill
