CHARLES: I remember when Betty had her legs insured for a Million $ by Lloyds's of London. Word was that 20th Century-Fox paid the premiums. That became a Hollywood thing then, and other stars wanted something of theirs insured. The stand-up comics had a field day suggesting body parts.
Roger: I remember the million dollar insurance on her legs....So glad we came along when we did and have those wonderful memories of .....to name a few...The great Clyde Beatty, The incomparable Cristiani Family, Truzzi, La Norma, Princess Tajana, the Wallendas, Gunther Gebel Williams, Elvin Bale, The Golden Carlos Twins, and that is just just the tip of the ice berg. Realize, I jumped off topic but what the heck...Never said I was perfect......All Great and wonderful memories.......
I learned recerntly of the passing of Angel Leon "Sonny" Stath, Feb 28 in San Antonio. He wrote his own obituary, which was entertaining reading. He came from outside the business and started working with, fell in love with, and married trapeze flyer Mary (Marilee) Atterbury. Eventually Sonny became a catcher and in addition to working with Marilee, caught Tony Steele doing a 3 1/2.
If anyone wants a copy of the obit, I'll be glad to send it. reinertg@hushmail.com
