Chic, You are wrong. Cher has worked closely with the performing animal welfare Society, a well-known animal activist group in California, to get rid of elephants at the Los Angeles zoo. She was also instrumental as one of the celebrities to ban Bullhooks in California. She has been animal rights for a number of years and being used as a photo op in Madison Square Garden in the 70s does not change her behavior now. This elephant transfer is another case of animal rights organizations using emotive messaging to promote a sanctuary model instead of private ownership and conservation activities. Anyone who has been involved in fighting animal rights extremists knows that the sanctuary model is the antithesis of captive breeding, free contact care, and any style of legitimate stewardship for elephants that will save them from extinction. Promoting anything Cher does is anti-circus.

Cher is in Pakistan on her way to visit
Kaavan's new home in Cambodia at the one
million acre Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary
where volunteers and staff protect all of
the natural habitat and house a wide range
of endangered animal species "HOORAY"
They are both now in Cambodia
Stay tuned for the updates
The trip went without issues
Should we celebrate a peta “elephant expert” anti Ringling celebrity in a circus blog?
Cher is not alligned with
any stupid activist group
She had been a devoted fan
of the circus bringing her
daughter Charity to the
Garden each year back when
she was a female child
This rescue was well done
