Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Phil with one of his furry friends Philip Morris & his wife Amy started the Morris Costume Company in the 60s in Charlotte North Carolina & their grandchildren now run the joint
As a circus guy with ties to theatre, I noticed his ads in the trades. Morris Costume carries a full range of selections for the professional.
Chic, didn't Ringling Brothers have a "Gorilla" act, the name was something like "Monastrut?" in the late sixties?
Yup it was "Monastyruk" an aerial routine Maybe in the 70s (whoever you are)
I think he only made one season with Ringling..
Phil was a great guy , He provided the specs for Tommy H. for many years, actually ,probably alot more. We stopped at his costume shop many times. He also showed up at many shows near and far...Like I said , He was a great guy.
Monastyruk was on the Blue Show from 74 through 76 (3 years) Few remember him or about him
