The Beatty show flying act frame was rigged over Ring 3, and once assembled, was hauled up by the show's backhoe tractor. In 1964, I saw this done every day, waiting for the rigging to go up, and the ring curbs to be set, so Beatty's arena to go in. When I returned after 16 years, in 1980, I believe it was the same tractor backing up to raise the flying act frame.
