I paid respects at her grave, which is in Lauderdale Memorial Park, Florida. She died on October 25, 1950, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, aboard the circus train, in the Beatty's private 61 Car. She had suffered a lingering heart condition. She was only 41.

Clyde and Harriett Beatty put Fort Lauderdale on the map when they opened their Jungle Zoo, in December of 1939. Encroaching real estate developers finally succeeded in having the Beattys zoned out in 1945. Disappointed and bitter, they left, and segued into ownership of the Clyde Beatty Railroad Circus. But Harriett loved their years in Fort Lauderdale, and requested to be buried there.

Beatty's firstborn, a son named Lawrence, died in 1975, and is also interred in this cemetery.
