I had heard stories about these bears

almost like mythology during times I

was in Vancouver & on Victoria Island

but I never had the opportunity to

visit the North Central Coastline a

long way off & not easy travel

I played Vancouver 4 times, the first for Uncle Sid Kellner's James Bros. Twice the Castle show took us to Vancouver Island, playing Victoria and Nanaimo. We played all the way up to Mile Zero, but with those Castle jumps, we got in, played the towns, and faced the next long jump. We did little sightseeing, and missed knowing the bear country. To this day, I tell people you cannot beat British Columbia for sheer, breathtaking splendour.
