When I joined out in '64, the Side Show sign was a cumbersome framed job that was lowered in threatening winds, and hoisted up again in calm conditions. This became a nuisance, and the lettering was sewed onto a net, seen here, through which the wind could blow and the title could stay aloft. Problem solved.
