Have always wondered why on carnivals that power units are called Generators.....Yet on the circus they are generally called "Light Plants". Back in the day some carnivals did not have generators and they pulled off of city power with a transformer.

Charles, carnivals used generator sets to power rides along with lights. On circus and wild west outfits, they were used mostly to power lights only and maybe why they kept the name "light plant".
