TONY: I didn't find the photo searching her name, but found copies of her book, HOLD THAT TIGER, priced higher than expected. I haven't tried that long line of tracing you listed, but photos of her from 1938 have her on Barnes-Sells Floto, when she had her largest act of between 22 and 18 mixed lions and tigers. We know about 1938, and neither show went out again. Sells Floto did become the title for the Felds' concessions operations, a business trick to keep anyone from using a previously-retired name elsewhere. Likewise, they used Hagenbeck-Wallace for their wardrobe division.
On the page I found, we have a shot of film actress Juanita Stark with Mabel, both holding lion cubs. Mabel's name was Haynie, so both Juanita and Mabel used Stark as stage names. Juanita was a stunningly beautiful starlet, who appeared in a dozen or so pictures in uncredited roles. She died at 71, in 2002.
I am guessing someone bought the photo. There was a bid on it, or a watcher, I forget. It was a nice shot, with a stamp on the back saying Los Angeles, 1938. I did see the other stuff you mentioned.

If that doesn't work, you could probably just search her name.
