Hoot and Beatty were on the Robbins show, in 1938. Cole folded early and Adkins and Terrell sent Clyde and Harriett Beatty to their "sister show", along with other acts trying to survive the show-killing season. In lieu of back wages, the Beattys got their respective wild animal acts and all equipment, plus 3 Cole show elephants. After closing with Robbins, the Beatty package worked Hamid's Steel Pier in 1939. With their nucleus acts, bolstered by clowns Kinko and Florenz, and with Arky Scott as Elephant Boss, they opened the Clyde Beatty Jungle Zoo, in Fort Lauderdale, on December 2nd.
