Just as a side note, Buckles' African, "AMY" was bred at Scott's place and gave birth to Miss Betz on Dec. 8, 2007. In 2017, AMY and Miss Betz were sent to the Chafee Fresno Zoo. AMY was euthanized in December after suffering a torn ligament in her leg.
Chic, not being pedantic but I reckon these two similar photos are of "Booper" AKA 'Betty Boop'. Clarify with S.Riddle. If you look at the 3rd pic, Peggy is on the left and you will be able to see the similarity with Booper on the right. Photo taken earlier probably. I was around these cows in 2000/2001. As always enjoy the blog. Best wishes from down under.

I heard from Scott Riddle yesterday
He mentioned that Peggy at 61 is doing
very well at his Elephant Sanctaury
in Quitman Arkansas
Some may recall that Gunther Gebel
gave "Eva" to Buckles many years
ago as she had been a problem to
him & was happy to give her away
Buckles quickly renamed her Peggy
in honor of 1 of Barbara's sisters
Peggy is the sole survivor of his
many performing elephants & went up
to Scott & Heidi's place along with
Anna May about 20 years ago
I recall the irony in Buckle's voice when Peggy would stray (just a little)..."oh Peggy..." he'd say. She would always snap to attention!

Thanks Bob
I knew that they were sent to Fresno
but I didn't know about Amy's death
