Robbins has a long and venerated history, with many illustrious owners. In the annus horribilis 1938, when Adkins & Terrell closed the Cole show in mid-season, their most prominent acts, including Clyde and Harriett Beatty, went to Robbins, then considered the sister show. Robbins has been covered in the circus press with extensive and admirable examination.
