The Armory in Utica NY was among our worst buildings on Castle. The fans named a tent after Hubert, so we had to jump in there from Colorado Springs every year. The Sergeant who ran the place was overloaded with arrogance, and hated having us there. In '73, we were tearing down to close the season, and ran up to midnight when the building contract expired. This army guy ordered the doors rolled down and locked us in. Corky Plunkett sent someone to the head Shriner, who called the local army colonels. They arrived just in time to command the doors opened before Pablo Martinez opened them with the sergeants fat head.

2nd year tours were derogatorily
known as the rodeo routes such as
this 2nd year Red Show Route Card
That Fayetteville building
was 1 tough shoehorn squeeze
But the Army Base supplied
great & appreciative crowds
That dreadful DC Armory always
was & still is a rotten joint

Irvin had the office moved from
downtown DC to this New Mexico
Avenue address which was only
a few blocks from The Colannade
where he lived at the time
