Oleg Popov. He was among the true stars of the Russian circus, with most of his years under Soviet Communism. Some notables were allowed selected privileges under still guarded conditions. I often wondered how he, and others of his star status, were treated during his career.
Was he the fellow with the trained housecat, that was under his hat for the first half of the act, and in the end chased him from the arena? That was one great act from one of the first Moscow Circuses, whoever it was.

I met him one at The Moscow Circus when it toured the U.S.
