This decorous lass is Dolly Castle. Her 4 ponies had changes of passengers over the seasons, noted in the Barnes programs as 2 leopards and 2 bears, all 4 with bears, all 4 with pumas, plus whatever mix Louis Roth would assign. The Barnes arena went up and stayed up throughout the show, which he billed as "Every act an animal act, and every animal a star." The show did have clowns, jugglers, and a flying act, but the cage was used 19 to 26 times in a very long performance. He got a hell of a show on 30 cars.

Miss Castle was Generally Useful in the cage, presenting Roth-trained animals. This photo is in Mabel Stark's personal albums.
