I can't ID the girl as Marion Davies in POLLY OF THE CIRCUS, but the posing and lighting suggests Hollywood expertise. So does her hair and makeup. The clowns (mostly) resemble early 20th century American clowns, with 1 or 2 not so hot, but the b.g. indeed seems a film set. Somebody out there might title this as a circus flick.
I looked back on IMDb for both Ms. Davies, and the POLLY film, and she is not the girl we have here. Ms. Davies in the film, and forever, was a stunning blonde. The flying was done by Alfredo Codona, whose partner by then, Vera Bruce, doubled ably for our star. Clark Gable co-starred, and the picture can be found on your computer.
Whoever it is, the photographer did a great job. Putting in a beautiful young woman moves the photo from a bunch of clowns to something you study...it hints at a story.
Looks like Laurel and Hardy in clown makeup next to the young lady on either side. Couple of the joeys look like they are from the Barnes show. Could this be from "The Chimp" Roger ?? p.j.

Pretty girl. To bad if she's still alive she's probably 100.

Those ribboned ballet slippers
suggests that she is a rider
