The Iwo Jima Flag Raising Monument will never be outdone for sheer inspiration.

I was among Clint Eastwood's extras on FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, his 2005 film tracing the effects of war heroism on the 3 surviving flag raisers returning from Mount Suribachi. He had a strong script and a world-class production, focusing mainly on the Native American veteran, Ira Hayes. When you see this movie, you will look upon this memorial with renewed pride.
