Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Gertrude Zimmerman know to many of us as "Struppi" came over to The Mills Bros Show (like so many other European performers) in 53 She later married Tommy Hanneford
Struppi & Tommy adopted his niece Nellie after Tommy's sister Kay died Nellie now runs the show
This is not the best angle to study her trapeze, but the eagle-eyed will spot one of Struppi's signature arrowheads, which she had on each end of her bar, signifying her Native American-themed Princess Tajana number.
And we don't have to be too eagle-eyed to notice Struppi does this heel-hang with no gimmicks.
