Someone took pride in keeping this one sharp. Maybe early in the season, but a fine-looking wagon.

Although the show's corporate title was

"General Circus Operating Company" it

was always considered an "Acme" show

Different spoke pattern

front & rear spool sides

Perhaps a repair to add

support from a bend

If the canvas isn't folded neatly

it can gain width in spooling

If it gets wider near the end of

the roll it add pressure on the

outer edges of the flanges

Especially when wet & heavier

Packing a wet tent is twice

the job & slower than dry

When Johnny changed to vinyl

he said it was like packing

a wet tent every night

Spare a thought to those who battled a wet Big Top on one-night stands.

Back when every section

was unlaced & bagged along

with the sidewall lengths

A 4 pole top had 10 sections

6 middles & 4 end quarters

Let alone the fact that a wet canvas on an already top-heavy spool was also harder to drive!
