ROGER: I first saw La Norma work this act on Howard Suez show in Atlanta, Ga at the old city auditorium (long gone). She closed the show...for the finish she did a handstand into a breakaway from the sputnik/globe and fireworks went off as she and the rigging with the rocket were lowered to the ground. She had done many daring feats on the single trap including a one foot hang before the finish. Class act from start to finish.

We live and learn. I never knew La Norma did this act.

Didn't the Zoppe Family have a rug like this when they were at the Florida park?
I can't recall them at the park
but Johnny & his then wife Betty
did either 1 or 2 years on Blue
with a similar rig that their
son unhappily ran the controls
He would announce to anybody
that would listen to him that
he called them "Pigs in Space"
Johnny was a hard worker but he
burnt his way out of many good
jobs & big time projects with
a trail of unfinished or faulty
results far & wide
When they split up they both
changed their proclivity
They must have came in when Buckles an Axel swapped out. I thought it was interesting to have your young kid work the controls on it.
I wasn't around the park in 78
It was an incredibly busy year
for me both domestic & foreign
Their son was a very bright boy
He did very well & very safely
No idea where he ended up
