During my tour of France with Annie Fratellini's Nouveau Cirque de Paris. We often could drive approximately 100 kilometers to see Cirque Pinder. We got to know M. Jean Richard very well. Nice guy.
Cirque Pinder declared bankruptcy in 2018 and ceased touring. Owner Frederic Edelstein mounted Christmas shows in late 2018 in Paris to fulfill existing contracts but said the future of the show was in doubt. His white lion act has appeared with other circuses as he attempts to build income to maintain control of the cats, but said that the cost of touring a show the size of Pinder was prohibitive. The loss of French government subsidies because of political concern about performing animals was a factor in the decision.

Don Covington
That would have been it's
2nd bankruptcy as Gilbert
Edelstein bought it out of
the 1st bankruptcy in 1983
from Jean Richard
The entire industry has
been decimated in recent
years everywhere (so sad)
I guess if it can't fit
on these little handheld
stupid phones then what
good are they anyway
