Colonel E.T. (Trevor) Bale, in RBB's Sarasota Quarters. CHIC will know, but I think that hoop had colored bulbs that lit up.

Isn't this an Afred Court style arena

That illuminated hoop was for after the

Hartford fire when no flame was allowed

Right, Court arenas are easily ID'd by the arcs at the tops and the X's at the bottoms. The photo indicates a scant effort for a net.

When flaming hoops conjured the horrors of Hartford, the clown fire-house gag was also 86'd for many years on most shows. The number did return--we had it on the '64 Beatty show--but that was 20 years after Hartford, and perchance for some not long enough.
