"Riverdance" trainees

I saw Michael Flatley and his Riverdance on tour in San Antonio. The dancing was without equal. During the last two numbers of the show, the string of pizza delivery trucks was arriving at the back door. The dancers had worked so hard, they had used up the last of their nourishment and strength, quite literally, and come offstage directly to the food tables starved to the point of dropping, and to dive in. They could not have gone back, showered, and changed first. The food had to be there, along with stacks and stacks of bottled water cases, and the vendors were contracted to meet this as a critical demand. It was quite a backstage scene, and nobody was kidding.
