Ron Gill of Star Attractions
in Glitter Gulch & a former
aerialist learned from Brunon
that his mother Ada Smeiya
had passed away after a long
decline in her health

Adela & her husband Klaus Blaszak
came to Big Bertha from Poland
in 64 & they both defected a few
years later & spent some time at
Jungle Compound in Thousand Oaks
Ada had a cat act of female lions
Klaus had a comedy male lion act
They framed a gorgeous single
ring tenter in 77 that opened
in Oxnard California & only
went on to a few more cities
Stardust Circus was amazing
but a short lived total loss
Their son Brunon is still
presenting a tiger act
In her later years Ada
became partnered with
Bunny Bartok's widdower
bear trainer Janek Perz
I remember selling "junk" for Jimmy Hamid. I finished "working Chinese" and wandered into the arena. Bunon had the cat act and Jorge and Louann had the elephants. I knew Louann from Circus World so when I saw her sitting there I went to say hi. She was sitting with Ada and introduced me and I got to sit with them for a while and listen to those 2 lovely ladies cut up jackpots.
She was a fine lady. I was fortunate to work a date with Brunon and his dad years ago that started a friendship. I also got to know Ada by sitting in the bleachers visiting. My sympathies to Brunon.
