The Andean condor is probably part of the bird show the Zoo was beginning to develop in 1995 with Steve Martin. A great location for a free-flight bird show. Steve made his name with the World of Birds Show at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It was very popular and bird shows began at a number of zoos. Some are gone but Steve still travels the world consulting and still has a show at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Over a period of many years in

the 80s & 90s I was involved in

a wide assortment of projects

in Toledo which incvluded work

at the Toledo Zoo with their

WPA built amphitheater where

I designed & built a totally

new outdoor sound system

Steve Martin & his partner

brought their "Birds of Prey"

show to reopen the facility

The 2 fellows were extremely

friendly & thankful for my

help to them so I'm very glad

to hear that he (or they) are

still around in that endeavor

Their quick paced performance

with a large varirty of birds

was highly entertaining

There was a great Condor that

waddled back & forth across

the stage many times
